Children’s Party Inspiration

Do you browse Pinterest and think to yourself…”Darn! I wish I wasn’t already married!?” Don’t worry, there are thousands of brides just like you lamenting the fact that their nuptials occurred before the advent of Pinterest. But don’t despair! There are many other occasions on which to utilize your giant collection of pins, such as graduation parties, baby showers, and most importantly, birthday parties! Creative and unique childrens parties are taking over the web, and virtually any interest can be transformed into a memorable party. Trains, fairies, art, science, music, lumberjacks, the myriad of Disney/Pixar characters, children’s books; anything can be used as the inspiration for a unique themed children’s party.

One of the easiest ways to incorporate a theme and color palette into a kids party is by using linens. When thinking “child’s party,” your first thought might not be “linens!” which is understandable. But fear not! We totally expect food and drink spills on our linens, so no worries about cleanliness! You should see some of the linens we get back from “grown-up” parties! The only things you need to think about when it comes to linen damage are permanent markers, burn holes, rips or tears, excessive candle wax, or anything that damages the linen to the point where we can no longer rent it out.

I’ve scoured the internet for some fun, unique children’s parties that incorporate linens or other rental items. These ideas are perfect for an extra special golden birthday, a milestone birthday, or just a birthday (or child!) that demands to be over the top.

1. Superhero Party

Superhero Party

I love this superhero party table by Corrie S.  over at Catch My Party. This setup incorporates some simple linens, which make a big impact. This look can easily be recreated with a black table linen, black chair covers, and coordinating table runners and chair sashes in “superhero” shades of blue, red, and gold. If black is too dark for your linking, this could also be done with white linens, or in any color combination you can imagine! This table proves that awesome party linens aren’t just for girls!

2. Golf Party

Golf Party

This golf party table, featured over at Celebrations at Home, is so unique! Is dad a golfer? Does your little golfer dream of being a pro someday? Is your son obsessed with Caddyshack? If your boy is interested in golf, this setup will probably make  him explode with excitement. The linens needed for this setup are pretty basic; a white table linen, navy napkins, and a custom AstroTurf table runner. The charger plates tie in nicely with the color scheme and more masculine feel of this setup.

3. Mickey Mouse Party

Micky clubhouse PartyAnother great party by Corrie S. at Catch my Party, this Mickey setup is fancy and fun! All this setup requires is a white table linen, black chair covers, chair ties in white, yellow, and red, and red napkins. This party setup would work well for a boy or a girl, or if you have siblings with birthday’s around the same time, it works as a more unisex approach.

4. Pink & Green Princess Party

Green Pink PartyThis setup, by The Celebration Shoppe, is perfect for the princess that doesn’t want an explosion of pink. A kelly green table linen, white wood folding chairs, pink organza chair sashes, pink napkins and pink place mats create this fun, whimsical look.

5. Cinderella Party

Cinderella PartyFor a more formal, fancy theme, like Cinderella, the linens make all the difference! This Cinderella setup, by Hostess With The Mostess, utilizes a light blue table linen, light blue organza chair ties, white chiavari chairs, and pink napkins. This is the perfect way to do a princess theme, without having to resort to buying a plethora of Disney licensed plates, cups, napkins, and accessories. What little girl wouldn’t be delighted to enjoy a party from her own little throne?

6. Ladybug Party

Ladybug Party

This ladybug party  by Mek R on Catch My Party is unique and fun! The only linens required are a white table linen, white chair covers, red napkins and runner, and a polka dot overlay. The polka dotted balloons are an inexpensive way to make the centerpiece pop. This theme would be perfect for a baby or small child that hasn’t quite developed their own interests yet.

So the next time you find yourself planning a party for a little one, look to the web for inspiration, and keep linens in mind when coming up with a plan for decor and a color scheme.
